My Guideposts - Week43

Home is heaven for beginners.
~Charles Parkhurst

Nesting and dreaming in my own little cottage**,

** The charming home above doesn't belong to me:  my home is tan not grey,  I can't grow hydrangeas here and my trees are smaller, I have neither gingerbread trim nor gothic arch windows, my porch is only about as big as the area on the far left framed by two columns and I live in the midst of suburbia on a smallish lot--but I love the "heavenly" appeal of this cottage photo.   I do have loads of colorful flowers, sunshine three hundred and fifty days a year, brick walks, a pond, my chickens and the best dog in the world!

  2. Whoops! Sorry to be misleading--I did mean to mention that this home isn't mine (but I wish it was--I'd paint it yellow with a forest green door)!

  3. It looks like it belongs in Chico or Red Bluff. I just love it!

  4. Now that is a charming cottage :) Thank you for your kind, supportive words. Things have to be resolved eventually...and in the meantime, we have plenty of projects to do that keep us busy. (and I'll keep looking for a positive in every situation)

That pumpkin bread looks great. I'll have to make it for my kiddos. They love it when I bake.
