What is it about Pride and Prejudice anyway? It's truly amazing that a two-hundred year old novel's still going strong. Each DVD version brings new opinions about the best Darcy. There have been jump-offs like Lost in Austen and Death Comes to Pemberley and P and P and Zombies. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who's lost count of how many times I've read the book.
And now? Now I've gotten ensnared by the Lizzie Bennet Diaries on YouTube! For those of you who are not LBD subscribers, it's delivered as a twice-weekly vlog by grad student Lizzie Bennet. Yes, THAT Lizzie Bennet.
I've become pretty much obsessed with this modern twist on a fav classic. These single women (even if it is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife) are smart, educated and thoughtful and I'm rooting for them every step and er, misstep of the way.
You may think you know the characters, but prepare to be surprised and delighted. I think the best part of this new adaptation is the fleshing out of minor roles. I'm not dropping any spoilers here, but I predict your heart might get highjacked by an unlikely member of the Bennet family.
I love browsing Jane's Pinterest boards and may have re-pinned a sweetly romantic idea or two.
And Lizzie isn't the only one who vlogs about her life. Facebook, Twitter and tumblir accounts exist in the world of LBD. The more I dig, the more I find. It's like a Jane Austen treasure hunt!
I could go on and on, but all I really wanted to say was that you might enjoy the Lizzie Bennet Diaries as much as I do.
But be warned, you might find yourself sitting in front of your computer at precisely 9 a.m. Pacific Time waiting for the latest episode to be posted and being tickled to find you're viewer #307. Not that I'd ever be enough of a fangirl to do that or anything.
Bring joy,

Thank you so much for your visit. I have never read Pride and Prejudice (where have I been) although I have seen the movie. Its just every time I read a book and there is a movie they are both different. Maybe I will pick up the book, I have train time since I compute. I love your sweet little felt Scotty dogs, they are adorable! I have enjoyed my visit with you and look forward to visiting again.
